Wedding Scrapbook

I love attending events, wedding, birthday parties, BBQ’s. Not only is it great to get together with friends and family it’s also a treat to not worry about any of the party details! When it comes to events where it’s customary to bring a gift though, I prefer personalized over purchased.

This summer I had two weddings (same day actually) so I decided to make both couples a scrapbook to document their love for each other. One was a wedding theme book using their wedding day colors and the other was a more neutral theme.

I essentially made the first scrapbook then made the second the same with the exception of a different color scheme and few minor detail changes. I also pull inspiration from previous projects and scrapbooks I’ve done in the past for ideas to get started. This helps to make the process go faster and prevent wanting to pull your hair out from lack of ideas. When all else fails, go online. There are lots of resources available, including blogs that will get your creative juices flowing. One of my fave resources is Splitcoast Stampers. It’s free to join and they have a multitude of ideas for cards, scrapbooks and projects. Check out their page here.

Here are a few pics of the scrapbooks…

My new fave is to use plain wrapping paper (as opposed to wrapping paper with designs or writing on them). Not only is it cost effective (ie: can be used for more than one occasion) but you can personalize it by what you add to the plain paper. Here I used a couple different color doilies (to match the corresponding scrapbook), wrapped some ribbon and added a heart shape cookie cutter to the top and voila’, personalized wrapping paper.

Let me know, do you prefer purchased, gift card/cash or personalized gifts?
